This Winter was a bit of a dud.  It had its moments, and might still have a few more, but Spring is already rearing its head here and there.  Rain, mild temps, muddy gravel and trails.  Its a time to tread lightly...and upgrade your bike!

New carbon bits maybe? Some new wheels perhaps?  I know, new tires! Like Clement's new Strada LGG in 32mm.  We've got some at the shop and that's what we'll be rolling as we rack up those early gravel base miles.

The Snow Is Here!

Winter took its sweet time but just like that the snow has arrived!  We may not see dirt again until April or May.  Or maybe it'll be 60 degrees next week...isn't New England great?!  Either way you've got some tasks on your cycling to-do lists:

1. Show your main steed some love.  We had a LONG riding season this year thanks to El Nino.  If your bike is getting hung up for the winter don't put it away wet.  Let us clean out this season's grit and grime, tighten and grease those bushings and bearings so your ride can hibernate in style and be ready to hit the ground running in 2016.

2. You should probably get a fat bike. Yeah, all these new smart trainers and Zwift are great and make indoor riding borderline bearable but let's be honest. You want to be outside. We can get you there. The market is full of great options now. You need affordable yet solid or stacked and drool worthy?  Enjoyment level will probably be equal and we can help with either.

3. Ride! Get out there! Be Social! Join our Strava Club Page to connect with local riders. We've got some fun promotions in the work for next year you won't want to miss!

So Long 2015

Hard to believe we are clear of Thanksgiving and barreling right through the Holidays. 2016 will be here before you know it.

Its a transition time of year. Some bikes are getting cleaned up and put away (we can help with that) and others are getting tuned up and ready to come out (we can help with that too!). In the coming weeks we'll be looking to make room for 2016 here at the shop so be on the lookout for deals.

Holy Week Hangover

Congrats everyone! We made it through Holy Week in one piece...sort of.  Drained, shattered, pulverized and any other word you can think of that embodies jamming a whole lot of cyclocross into 12 days or so.  What doesn't kill us right?!

We had a great time and it was great hanging with everyone in the #NECX.  Now its time to clean those bikes off, tune them up and get ready to do it all over again.  Lots of great races coming as we head into Oct.

As much as we love cross we can't help but let our minds wander to a few months from now when the flakes will be flying and we'll swap our 33mm tires out for some 4.8's.  Fat biking is the most fun way to keep your fitness from completely falling off over the winter.  Sell the trainer on Craigslist, you won't need it.

Cyclcocross in New England kicks off in just over a month. Are you ready? Probably not. Neither are we.  But we're getting there and while we can't help improve your fitness we can help you get all the gear you're going to need to lower your crossresults points and make the highlight reel at dirtwire.tv
